Aqua Star works actively with each provider in our supply chain to ensure best practices, guarantee traceability and continuely improve processes.
All production facilities adhere to internationally recognized Food Safety standards by engaging in an annual third party audit of all processing facilities to a Global Food Safety Initiative benchmarked standard. Aqua Star supports the development of these standards through the British Retail Consortium audit and certification scheme.
Uphold the Ethical standards of social accountability by engaging an annual third party code of conduct/social audit at all key processing facilities and through support of the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code.
All products are Traceable to their origins through a trace code on each finished product, enabling immediate identification of packer and production date, using and supporting Trace Register’s web based traceability platform. Aqua Star can accurately link all raw materials to specific catch area, vessel/group of vessels or farm. Due diligence performed to ensure illegal, unregulated or unreported catch or illegally farmed seafood are avoided.
Aqua Star is a Responsible company, continuously improving on our goal to achieve sustainable seafood. Aqua Star maintains appropriate licenses for all vessels, farms and manufacturing facilities, works closely and openly with suppliers, customers and NGOs to achieve mutual goals and supports and promotes the expansion of certified wild caught seafood through the Marine Stewardship Council and farm raised seafood through the Global Aquaculture Alliance, Best Aquaculture Practices program, and the World Wildlife Fund, Aquaculture Stewardship Council.
