Senior Accountant

Aqua Star is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team at our Seattle headquarters. Reporting to the Controller this role will handle a variety of accounting, accounts payable, and treasury tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze daily inventory reporting
  • Assist with annual budget process
  • Ensure proper documentation and approval prior to payment of invoices
  • Research and resolve vendor and internal inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month end financial close reconciliations and accruals
  • Reconcile A/P subledger to GL
  • Maintain A/P master accuracy
  • Prepare and reconcile bank Borrowing Base Certificate daily by 10:30am.
  • Responsible for all supplier payments and associated documentation including validated banking instructions
  • Maintain detailed cash management records as follows: future cash commitments, collection, LC and wire transfer disbursements
  • Control and prepare daily reconciliation statements for all banks and follow up on all reconciling items
  • Post daily cash activities
  • Reconcile all interest and banking fees to the loan agreement
  • Monitor and improve all ineligible borrowing base elements
  • Anticipate and prepare short-term borrowing needs
  • Manage the Canadian dollar foreign currency accounts
  • Manage Bankers’ Acceptance borrowings
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow projections
  • Maintain a file of foreign exchange transactions
  • Prepare and maintain schedule of LC and DP fees for all financial institutions
  • Prepare routine ad hoc reports for internal and external distribution
  • Reconcile loan interest monthly
  • Balance sheet reconciliation as assigned

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of G/L accounting, accounts payable, and treasury experience
  • Extensive hands on ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred)
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficient knowledge of consolidations and financial statement preparation is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organized, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to be both fast and accurate in a high-volume setting
  • Ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to learn and follow procedures quickly

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
