This iconic New Orleans dish is not only savory and delicious, but a healthy, under-30-minute staple for busy weekdays and last-minute entertaining. Tender shrimp simmers in lemon and garlic, with Cajun spices adding notes of paprika, pepper, onion, thyme and cayenne. Bring to a boil and voilà, dinner is served!
In large pot, add all ingredients except shrimp, and bring to boil. Add shrimp to pot and bring back to boil for 1-2 minutes. With slotted spoon, remove shrimp and immerse in ice water for 6-8 minutes to prevent further cooking. When cooled, drain water, pat shrimp dry with paper towel, peel and enjoy!
